Blogging Live

Rare treat today, or is it? For you, maybe, but not for me. I’m writing live from the scene. The scene of the sterile room while I get Red Devil #3. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to cope with my side effects of the first two chemo treatments. I don’t know what it was about today’s but I’m just not feeling it. Starting last night, my stomach began churring in anticipation of coming today. It’s knowing that for the next two days I’ll feel nauseous. It’s knowing that tomorrow and Friday I’ll have headaches and muscle aches. It’s knowing that I’ll also go in and out of feeling yuck for the next 3 days and then on/off tired. Blah. Also, hard to see in the picture, but the shirt I’m wearing is specific for those with ports. It’s a thing! It zips down the shoulder and the front to access my port. Things I never thought I’d need to know.

#3, in my convenient “port” shirt.

I AM happy to report though that “Cindy” made her first public appearance for my husband’s birthday. She had a great time! Blowing in the wind, poking my eye, or getting in the way of me eating a burger. I loved every minute of it.

“Cindy” enjoyed celebrating Brian’s birthday!

I’ll be honest though, I do prefer to rock the bald head. Speaking of… wait for it. I am now a SHINY baldie. After the buzz cut, the little tiny hairs started falling out too. So trying to take care of my head with lotion or even gentle washing my hands looked like they were overtaken by little red fire ants. Can you picture that? I tried to Bic it myself, but not ‘actually’ having eyes in the back of my head, I was getting frustrated. Called my gingerly friend, Savannah, to come handle that shit. Boom, I’m a shiny baldie.

Now THIS is bald! Warning: Sunglasses recommended.

Question now for anyone out there that is also bald. How can you stand putting your head on the back of a leather couch? It’s like my head is sticky on it. Is that just me? This can’t be a new thing. So weird. Relaxing at night I wear a light cap, don’t want to leave my head prints on my couch.

Dr. just came by, I’m cleared for treatment, so the red devil will be starting soon. They do labs before every treatment to make sure your body can handle the meds. Apparently today I’m a bit anemic. I rolled my eyes and my Dr. laughed. Seriously, all of this is just annoying.

Before I sign off, because I’m going to try to nap or binge watch Grace and Frankie, do me a favor and go back to my home page. I had a friend create a custom logo for me for this journey. A hooter for my hooters, pink for breast cancer and the hooter’s right eye winking for my right missing nipple. Absolutely love it!
